Click here for the Chromebook Protection Plan The Girl’s Spring Track and Field team had an amazing first meet on Wednesday May 8th. The team came out in first place against tough competition from Oceanside, Freeport, and Roosevelt. Major highlights include a school record breaking long jump by Talia Brooks with 17 feet. There were three places in the top 5 for the 1500 by Mary Hall, Emma O’Brien, and Abby McEneaney. The meet closed out with an exciting 4 by 100 relay. SSMS’s relay team featuring Vanity Gaither, Grace Woodbury, Nayla Singh, and Natalia Brooks crushed the competition and came in 1st! An incredible start to the season, Coaches Pinto, Nastro, and Flynn are so proud of you all! On Thursday May 9th, 7th grade girls’ lacrosse played an incredible game and beat Port Washington 13-11. Starting goalie, Gaby Merrits had 3 saves, Myra Grillo had 7 saves Kelsey Cavenaugh had 1 goal. Katie Kassup had 2 goals. Emmy Iandiorio had 3 goals and Juliet Diorio had 7 goals. Assists by Katie Kassup, Bianca Cherry and Courtney Barbaratto. Excellent defense from Maeve O’comhrai, Emma Glynn, Emily McFeely and Casey Maier. Overall excellent effort by all girls!
